Objetivo:

El objetivo de este artículo es evaluar el consumo del yogurt en niños estadounidenses y su relación con la calidad de la dieta.

Principales contribuciones:
  1. Los niños que consumen yogurt presentan una dieta de mayor calidad en comparación con los que no lo consumen.
  2. Los niños que consumen yogurt presentan un mayor consumo de fibra, calcio, magnesio, potasio y vitamina D.
  3. El consumo de yogurt se asocia con un menor índice de masa corporal y el 23% de los niños mostró un bajo riesgo de desarrollar sobrepeso u obesidad.
Conclusiones:

El consumo de yogurt se asocia a una dieta alta en densidad de nutrimentos, de ahí que un porcentaje importante de los niños que lo consumen logran cubrir los requerimientos de nutrimentos indispensables como calcio, magnesio y potasio.
